Fun fact : If Indian Football Team announces 23 men for Football tournament, atleast 15 people will be from these 7 states.

I went there a few years ago. It’s very underrated, but it’s better if it stays that way.

I had. friend from Nagaland, and he told the most fascinating stories rom his village. He looked more Tibetan, tha what we consider Indian. And he was a very happy, carefree guy. He came to the states to get his degree. Super nice guy.

I first learned about Nagaland as a child in the USA in the 1960s. I had started stamp collecting, and in the packets of international stamps I was buying (with my allowance money), I kept finding stamps from "Nagaland." Having never heard of this "country," I had to look it up in our encyclopedia. I discovered it was a State of India in the far northeast corner. Since it was not an independent country, I always wondered why it was issuing its own stamps. Regardless, I kept collecting them because of their beauty.

Only decades later did I discover that they were not "official" postage stamps allowable for postage (despite having denominations on them), but only tourism-type stamps meant for publicity purposes, and printed in the UK. Oh well, I guess they are still collected. But I felt honored to be one of the few Americans in the 1960s who knew exactly where Nagaland was because of those stamps, and I have never forgotten. 😀👍
