The manticore did not pick up the tent stake because it was set up to ignore iron. Negative numbers on minelab is iron.

Hey, having fun is what matters. Nice little showcase of a budget detector, nothing wrong with that. Sweet!

What was the name of that detector? Maybe a link to Amazon?

Thank you for showing a low priced detector in use . Metal detecting is a fun " HOBBY " , there is no limit on the amount of money that can be spent pursuing fun . Please test and review more , detectors vs your minelab detectors .

First off you don't seem to know a lot about detecting, or about the setup on either of the detectors. There are lots of Cheap Chinese detectors (under $100) that work, but they have very slow recovery speeds meaning you have to swing them very slowly. They go crazy if you turn the sensitivity too high, so they don't go very deep and also aren't able to detect tiny targets as you found out. They may get a young kid interested in metal detecting, but they could also be frustrating after a while. Spending at least $200-$300 will get a detector that will keep you going for a while. Don't forget you also need a pinpointer, which cost about $40 for a goof cheap one. And something to dig with.

You found a cent. The United States does not make pennies, it makes cents.
