"In our world there will be no emotions except fear, rage, triumph, and self-abasement. Everything else we shall destroy—everything. Already we are breaking down the habits of thought which have survived from before the Revolution. We have cut the links between child and parent, and between man and man, and between man and woman. No one dares trust a wife or a child or a friend any longer"- Orwell, 1984

There are plenty of industries that profit from making everyone feel terrible about themselves. "Are u too large or too small, too aggressive or not aggressive enough?" If you're rich, you're greedy, if poor, useless. Here's a pill, a car, a holiday, an enemy, a charity, a cause to make you feel better, or to someone else feel worse...

There are such great insights on this video and generally on the journalism that BBC consistently produces, that I really felt my brain being fired up by what I was hearing.
That was great. And it's a great way to approach modern phenomena from the perspective of older strategies by political or financial leaders. The propaganda mechanisms are usually repeated in a very exact manner, but you only understand it after it has been mapped and laid out in front of you after a while.
When these social media phenomena first happen, either they really are spontaneous and the "systems" haven't realised their potential or they are staged from the off and are manipulating people from the start.
It's best to have a very minimum relation with social media and to be very critical about what you see and hear in there.
Great show, thanks.

more needs to be done to hold the tech companies liable, they are promoting this grievance culture right here on youtube because they and the creators profit from it, it's great to see you discussing this topic because i've felt for a while it's being flying under the radar and nothing is being done

These grievances should lead to something positive about a man's self-esteem or wellness, learning something new, contemplating the nature or watching a good movie. This what makes me as a man comfortable. Knowing that what I do is important for me and those whom I love most. And here's the catch: it's not about reinforcing your self-perception by demeaning or debasing others for their sexual orientation or gender or a skin color. No, the beauty of healing is in the appreciation of the world around you and acquiring new knowledge everyday, whether it's an interesting story or a new language.

They have convinced women they need all of this for years. Now simply they have found a new market.

Even for benign content, I often find myself wishing for an algorithm that would insert a percentage of more random content into my YouTube feed, or even a calculated amount of purposeful “opposing perspective” content.

You’ll never find the way to live a better life online because the way to live a better life is not to be online.
They’re paid to keep you online and uninformed, go find out for yourself.

This issue is so overstated. I spoke to the guys at work who are 18 and around that age. Andrew Tate is an old man to them I they know nothing about him. Everyone else they follow is just for the crack. They know it’s nonsense. They laugh at them and more so at the reaction to them. Our young people aren’t as dumb as some like to think.
