  Like so many David was my hero in the days before influencers, and from the days where legends are forever. I had both action man horses and one was called Sportsman and the other called Philco! No posters on my wall of pop icons but David, Michael, John and Eddie instead! How totally wonderful to hear this interview from the absolute ICON that is David. X

  This was totally fantastic! David Broome was one of my icons/GOAT as well. I too used to watch the horse shows on the telly. Got all my homework done and was allowed to stay up & watch. Showing my age! Did go to Olympia 3 times. The last time we had V.I.P.  tickets and sat in front of the bar. After a round of jumping the competitors came up for a drink! My favoutite horses were undoubtably Sportsman & Philco. I met David Broome & Philco at Badminton of all places on a Saturday.  Went there with the pony club to watch the XC.The greats then were Lucinda Prior Palmer, Captain Mark Phillips & Princess Anne. I was too shy to say hello to him & ask him if I could give Philco a gentle pat. Have David Broome's Training Manual by Marcy Pavord first published in 1994. At the back are all the greats from Wildfire to Philco. Agree with Pippa that it is a shame we no longer see equestrian events on TV like we did in our youth. Keep up the Fab podcasts!

  Fantastic episode. Brought back many memories. I remember being stabled next to Mr Softee at the Royal Highland Show one year in the 1960s. I was so excited. When the show finished I removed the name card from the front of his box and kept it in our tack room for years.😊

  Thanks for that great interview, he allowed me to cut my early chiropractic teeth on some of his horses(under supervision obviously🙂). He is such a gentleman and one of the nicest people in equestrian sport. I’m delighted to see he’s in great form and as sharp as he ever was. A fascinating episode...

  Thank you very much🙏🙏🙏<br>I watched David on tv since I was a little girl.<br>Later on I went to all the international show jumpings in Holland, Germany and Belgium.<br>During Jumping Amsterdam I always borrowed my car to Paul Darragh who drove the Irish and British show jumpers to the hotel and back to the arena.<br>I remember seeing my car driving on the &apos;bicycle path&apos; really loaded with riders😂<br>So many sweet memories. <br>David often made jokes during the price given ceremony. He pretended to drop a medal or something on the ground 🤭<br>With great interest I listened and watched the podcast. Such an amazing man, David Broome. Bless you, David!<br>You were asking for tips who to ask for this podcast.
