It's hard to explain to people how revolutionary this movie was when you saw it in the theater in 99.

I'm jealous for the people who get to experience this for the first time.

Those scenes were only "predictable" because so many movies that came after were influenced by this movie. All of my friends saw this in the theater opening day, and many times after. It was very innovative when it first came out.

The sickest part about this movie in 99 was all the previews just asked the question. We didnt see any spoilers and scenes before opening night. It was insane. I wish previews were still like that sometimes.

The line Neo says “guns. Lots of guns” is also used in John Wick 3. A lil fun fact 😊

My wife and I watched this in theaters back in ‘99 off one teaser trailer that basically told us nothing. So grateful that was the case. These types of movie experiences are priceless.

YouTube reactors watching The Matrix: "Keanu Reeves looks so young."
80s & 90s kids watching John Wick: "Keanu reeves looks so old."

4:20 I didn't realize until over 20 years later that this line indicates there's a time differential in this scene. The lieutenant's men are literally already dead, meaning the agents have no hosts to jump into.

Sponsored by AI while reacting to The Matrix is a level of irony I was not expecting.

“There is no spoon.” Alex picks up his mug and stares intently, the exact same thing all of us did as kids after watching The Matrix for the first time in the 1900’s. Timeless, I tell ya.

The guy who played "Mouse" the 'digital pimp' is also the guy who tried selling "death sticks" to Obi-Wan in Attack of the Clones.
