Doing This Will Make Your Backyard Produce Power Day and Night

I pushed copper and a galvanized nail into wet dirt at 3 AM in the rain… and got the SAME reading as noon. No sun. No wind. No fuel. 🌧️⚡ This is an earth battery — a power source that's been under your feet since 1841. I built a 10-cell array for $8, watched it FAIL in front of me, then figured out why (a Scottish clockmaker explained it in 1852). The rebuilt version ran for 30 straight days, through a dry spell, without a single dropout. Most videos on this topic show you an 8-volt meter reading and stop there. I hooked up a real load on camera. Stay for the part where I get it wrong — it's the most useful thing in the video. 🔧 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: ✅ How a galvanic cell in soil actually works (the same physics eating the galvanized pipe in your yard) ✅ Why 8 volts couldn't light a 5-watt LED strip — and why most earth battery videos quietly hide this ✅ Series vs. surface area: the ONE lever that actually increases current ✅ The storage + blocking diode setup that makes it usable ✅ My real 30-day numbers, under load, at 3 AM ✅ Myths busted: the Baghdad Battery & "telluric current" claims 🛒 BILL OF MATERIALS (~$8): Copper pipe (type M, ½" to ¾") Galvanized nails or galvanized steel rod Insulated wire Blocking diode (~$1) Small sealed lead-acid battery or capacitor for storage Multimeter ⚠️ SAFETY — PLEASE READ: Call 811 before you dig. Every time. It's free. NEVER connect this to your house wiring, outlets, panel, or grounding system. It's a standalone, isolated, low-voltage project that stays in the yard. Keep it out of vegetable beds — the zinc dissolves into the soil. 📊 HONEST EXPECTATIONS: This will NOT run your AC, fridge, or lights. It's a trickle, not a generator. It's built for low-draw loads: soil sensors, microcontrollers, trickle charging. What it offers is continuity — it doesn't stop at night, in a storm, or during an outage. 💬 BUILT ONE? Post your numbers in the comments — soil type, electrode size, and your reading UNDER LOAD (not open circuit). Let's build the best field data on the internet. And tell me: would you run a sensor off dirt for 3 years, or just buy the lithium cell? 👇 🔔 Subscribe — next video I'm going after something in your house that's quietly adding to your $150/month electric bill.
