I was lucky to have known this great music director as a neighbour while live in Khar, 15th road. As kids we had a free passage into his house and often got treated with huge bars of chocolates. Fond memories.

वो भी एक दौर था...जब बप्पी दा जी के डिस्को के गाने आये तब बर्मन जी के बुरे दिन आने लगे 😥😢उस समय इन बातों को कैसे सहा होगा 😭😭

You missed out on one crucial fact. Maestro SD Burman had two assailants, Jaydev and Rahuidev. He gave chance to both and Hum Donon came to Jaydev and Mehmood starrer Chhote Nawai was given to Rahuldev in 1961

As a music director, he was genius, a master of all skills and so versatile. His songs have been part of our life so much, I cannot imagine life without Panchamda. Bhagwan uski atma ko shanti pradan kare. He was head and shoulders above all music directors.
