Much of part 18 to me feels like coming down from the high of 17, of which I feel is the point; if Twin Peaks is in a dream, and the return in particular, Richard waking up in the hotel and everything from then on is the deconstruction and coming to terms with the reality.  Particularly, the scene with the headlights is meant to portray his jumping at shadows and superstition, and has been reflected on his projections of the "little girl from down the lane" - Harold having told Laura "But Bob isn't real" or Philip telling her it's her father, her being unable to accept her reality.  In fact this is relatable to many of the cast, but Laura and Cooper sharing the spotlight, Carrie and Richard are at the forefront.  The very end might seem as if a cliffhanger, but I see it as Richard's failure at understanding "Is it future or is it past?" stuck in the past himself, and Carrie's scream symbolizing the misguided attempt to return to the past.  Throughout the series we are told that spirits go through electricity, but if they, like Bob, are the evil that men do, and it is shown in the evolution of the arm, they are more akin to brain signals travelling through nerve endings.  The lights of the Palmer house go out, going dead, and we exit the dream of which there had been another.

"The old Twin peaks seasons are the least David Lynch David Lynch has ever done."<br><br>Thats true. The lodge scenes and the season 2 finale( Which mostly consists of the lodge) are Lynch as hell though.

In what world does Wollie think that "Mulholland Drive" is "old school Lynch" ? Mulholland Drive was his 2nd to last movie, and made in 2001. Old school Lynch would be Eraserhead or Elephant man. Shit, even Blue Velvet could qualify. But a 2001 Lynch movie isnt not old school

Blue Velvet is very straight forward, actually. Then there's the Elephant Man, although this is a bio-pic. Hmmmm, Wild at Heart is cohesive for the most part. Haven't seen Dune yet, but given that it's a direct adaptation I can't really see it getting too crazy. Lost Highway is the shit, tho.
