  The person who asked for the date and picked  the venue should be prepared to pay, unless both persons agreed, before the date, to split the bill.

  Few westerners can appreciate the pressure put on the oldest girl of the family to help mom and dad. The dynamics are all encompassing emotionally, socially, economically, and spiritually.

  Your interaction with each other is endearing. I personally, feel happiness when witnessing. I have to say that I find value in traditional relationships and almost none in most modern relationships. Gender roles are natural and compliment each other rather than competing with each other, like is often the case when feminism is largely present.

  When I lived in the U.S. I paid for every date, not just meals. Tickets, movies, cover charges, gas, bills, tips. Same in Thailand. In the Philippines they call the silent treatment "tampo"

  while studying Thai, the farang may wonder how distant our cultures are, you guys specify the idea of washing via 6 different verbs, on the other hand present, past and future of any verb look like dwelling in a global concept with a lot of space for interpretation...
