Ciao and thank you for watching. If you have memories of the moka pot or your own way of making coffee I would love to read them here. It is wonderful to see how many different stories this little pot carries. Enjoy your coffee and thank you for being part of tortellinotime.

The very first time I ever saw this machine used and drank coffee from it I was 40, and I surely felI in love with the Moka pot. My ex-boyfriend's mother, a wonderful German lady gave me one her used ones; then a friend presented me one as It was no secret i was passionate about them. At some point I ordered a smaller one to add to my collection when I lived in Brooklyn, NY. I am from South Asia and live back in Bangladesh now. I am almost certain hardly anyone else own three Moka pots here. Of course we ourselves have many beloved ways to make tea and coffee in these regions. But I just love the fact that my moka pots look well used and carry many years of history and memories. To my delight, I am 65 now and my love affair with Moka pots has never diminished! Over the years I have picked up few of those points regarding making coffee and caring for the pot. I thoroughly enjoyed your Physics and the socio cultural exchange on moka pots. Thank you! And thank you Alfonso Bialetti-- now, this part of the history I didn't know!

Thank you! I am not a coffee drinker, but I have always wondered how this little moka pot worked. Your demonstration was excellent. It was well thought out and very effective. For example, I never knew there was a pressure release valve. You explained everything beautifully.

When I have seen the moka pot in the past, I've always wondered, "Is this a single serving coffee maker?" Now that I understand you are making expresso, everyone in the house can have cup. 😊

You are a joy to listen to. You have a very soft, warm, and melodic voice. The perfect voice you want to hear when you wake up in the morning. Very soothing.

You are a wonderful example of how we can talk softly and garner everyone's attention because people need to be quiet to listen.

Thank you, again, for putting in so much effort and care in creating this video. Your wife's camera work was excellent. You make a great pair!

I’ve lived in Italy for 13 years and use my Moka every single morning, it makes me feel Italian. Together with the Vespa I truly believe these are two of the greatest inventions in history. And both Italian , hey !

That sound is called a scotch whistle when you do that when drinking with a straw. It has to do with the frugality of the Scottish. You are sucking up the last drops.

I have at least four. The hard water where I live does strange things to the boiler.
I began drinking coffee with my mother at a coffee shop on the way to kindergarten. I began making morning coffee for my parents in a percolator when I was six years old.

It took me ages to find a stainless steel one. It amazed me how few people seemed to be concerned about the aluminium ones. Even people who decried aluminium cooking pots and pans seemed not to join the dots.

Growing up in Connecticut, my second-generation Italian parents used instant coffee and then later, a Mr. Coffee drip machine. But when I visited relatives in Agerola, Italy, they all had a moka pot and the coffee was amazing! (They also stored homemade wine in Coca-Cola bottles, but that is another story). Today, I grind my beans and use a Technivorm Moccamaster drip machine or a French Press. But I would love a video on coffee!

I discovered the moka pot in Poland, of all places. I rented a flat with several to choose from. Having never used one before, I made some terribly burnt and strong coffee, but I was fascinated. Upon returning home, friends gifted me with one that was well used. I really enjoy making coffee with it; however, I believe I should refrain from drinking the whole thing at once by myself!
