  Thanks for posting this. I studied Daito-ryu Aiki Jujitsu for a bunch of years. People got it confused with BJJ, but when I explained we used weapons they were more confused.

  Honestly, Julia&apos;s moves that she used while blind folded really reminded me of the old school Gracie Jiu Jitsu that you see in the old black and white videos with Helio and Carlos demonstrations.

  The level of ignorance in some of these comments is mind blowing. Show me a dojo where the instructor demonstrates and teaches a new technique to students of various levels, at full speed, with full resistance and full contact and I will show you a dojo with no “bullshido” and NO STUDENTS.

  I think it&apos;s important to keep in mind that JJ is self defense and combat from an ancient time, with very specific incentives and conditions. As an example, if you someone is generally armed with a sword, you tend to be a lot more wrist grabby than strike orientated. Hence why JJ has so many wrist grab defenses. <br><br>And this framework of ancient Edo era incentives and conditions is why the art is the way it is, and why comparing against modern incentives and conditions, does it a disservice.

  love your videos josh!! i started watching you a few months back and you got me in to judo actually and im from sweden now i train judo 6 hours a week / 4 classes a week and im 17 years old, i have my yellow belt test december 10th, and recently made it out of drug and alcohol addiction, im so thankful i found you brother!! i have made it from 45kg too 90kg now:)

  Love your videos! There is a lot of martial arts content, but so much of it is basically tribal chest thumping. I find your approach of &quot;What is to be learned here&quot; a breath of fresh air. Same reason I love Jesse&apos;s videos.

  Japanese jujutsu and its modernized Western versions are really underrated. <br>They are excellent for learning a wide range of techniques, including throws, ground fighting, striking, chokes, joint locks, and weapons. <br>It&apos;s a &quot;jack of all trades, master of none&quot; approach, which is a pretty powerful combination from a self-defense perspective.
