  As an old guy with disposable income and a newfound appreciation for mechanical watches, I attempted to purchase a Rolex. How naive of me. After experiencing a strange Kabuki theatre at a Rolex store, was bewildered. I knew something was off, but I was at a loss. Thanks to the experiences of others, and their stories of “waitlists”, “building a relationship” , and the arrogance of small town jewelry store owners, I would never wear a Rolex, much less purchase one. Honestly, I do not understand young people and their willingness to yield their self respect for a gewgaw. &nbsp;Boycott this brand, if, for no other reason, your dignity.

  The retailers are their own worst enemy. Selling direct to the grey market or to flippers and ignoring the general market

  I was on a wait list for a Rolex at an AD (#1). I went to another AD (#2) across town to look at Grand Seikos the other AD (#1) didn’t sell. We couldn’t make a deal on the Grand Seiko I wanted. I mentioned to the sales person that I was on a wait list at the other AD (#1). Within a week I got a call from AD(#2) that he had the Rolex I wanted. I questioned him as to why he notified me after not purchasing the Grand Seiko. He said he just wanted to take care of me. He gave me the white glove treatment which was nice but I just wanted the Rolex. I didn’t need the “experience”. What I appreciated was that he either had the Rolex or was able to get one on short order for me. That was excellent service and I would go back to him.

  Rolex is gettin worst.. 2x they had a price increase last yr... for what, more hype? Its still the same watch they&apos;re sellin

  what find funny is that people pay these prices for a watch made out of common steel not gold, platinum, silver, titanium....common steel!.

  I have an old school Rolex but I would never buy another one not even used. There are so many fakes out there that it’s not really worth it. It’s a farse.
