Very interesting topic! In many of the projects I've worked on, actual physical security of the chips was never really considered, so it's always nice to hear experience of others.

Another brilliant video!<br>I never imagined an attack could be executed this way—it truly exceeded my immagination.<br>I also got an idea on how to test particular chip robustness &nbsp;on PCB against environmental interferences.

This video tells me that if you develop a secure device, then you must think again.

its very interesting for me as hardware enthusiasts an software developer

Woah. I subscribed to your channel a few days ago because of your videos about routing high-speed PCB traces, which I wanted to learn about for a fault-injection security research project. And now you&apos;re making videos about fault injection too!

Super interesting <br>. I do like to compress my firmware before release in our diagnostic tool. This act as a sort of encryption and avoid to simple code machine reverse engineering, especially if you cannot dump it from the target.<br>Open to discuss on that. Worldwide machine deployement background. Means the firmware is clearly visible, potentially.<br>Compression seems one step of protection, along flashing timing optimisation.

The core voltage glitching is how the PicoFly modchip for the Nintendo Switch works.

  • @robertsimpson1157 · 1 year ago

There is an expected average number of clock ticks/cycles per type of MCU that would help the swag timing (scientific wild guess). It does depend on instruction but it’s better than out of the blue number.

This is why cybersecurity and code encryption are also important

  • @Wave-infinite-plus · 1 year ago

For reverse engineering this is important and it&apos;s intresting from stright engineering.

How are you pulling the core down to ground? I understand you are not shorting 3.3v (Vcc?), so this dev board has a GPIO that can be used to connect directly to the core power rail?

what does it mean &quot;if I glitch one instruction&quot;? One assembly instruction? One u-ops? One line of code? <br>what do you mean by &quot;skipping one instruction&quot;? What do you mean by word &quot;skip&quot;? <br>is your target code depends on input from one of the cpio pins?
