  Frieren encapsulates the very uniquely human experience (ironically) of seeking for redemption when there is none to be found, yet the act of the seeking itself is a sort of remission of sins. The very first episode begins with the party defeating the big bad evil guy, which should be the ultimate victory, but Frieren&apos;s refusal to reciprocate Himel&apos;s feelings and her aggressive disengagement with forming attachments to other people leaves us with a feeling of bitter defeat, a great sense of overwhelming regret, and a realization that there is no going back. <br><br>I haven&apos;t read the manga, but so far in the show, the journey to visit Himel is an allegory for re-discovering what it means to be alive. A conscious decision for Frieren to open herself up to being hurt by inevitable death again, knowing she will outlive these new companions, knowing that she will never be able to love Himel like she should have so long ago, yet still against all the reason in the world she chooses to embrace life and love it for what it is despite all the hurt and pain it will visit upon her. Now, Frieren isn&apos;t concerned about a thousand years from now. She&apos;s hardly even concerned about tomorrow. She&apos;s concerned about Fern and Stark and saying sorry to someone she loved very much and treated very poorly. And because of this single-minded dedication to the present moment, she is rewarded with one of the greatest adventures of her life. <br><br>The first deep answer the story shows us is why Frieren is even bothering to go to heaven and in every episode, we are reminded why; that life itself is so beautiful and wonderful if we&apos;ll just chose to love it. Watching Fern grow up, finding little moment of magic is the most unexpected of places, walking through fields of flowers and enjoying a humble dinner with people she loves, this is the essence of a life worth living that brightens our favorite ancient todler&apos;s heart. For her, every day can be a miracle, filled with a sense of wonder and awe if she just opens herself to the possibility of being one with the moment. Ultimately, this is the lesson of Frieren. This this could be all of us. We have the opportunity every day, no matter how old we are, how hard we&apos;ve screwed up, how badly we&apos;ve damaged our lives... infinity is at our fingertips. The precipice of the greatest adventure of our lives, our beautiful, magical, inspiring futures lies just outside the door. It can be anything; if so long as we chase it with our whole heart and love every step, every moment, life will be something to greet as a much-loved friend and not some cruel stranger we hide away from, sheltered behind rickety walls of insincerity and detachment. <br><br>Amazing playlist as always, and the best anime ever created.   I don&apos;t know how, but Himmel&apos;s voice sounded extra gentle here. It literally made my throat tighten, I feel like I want to cry. Truly the embodiment of peace.

  So many of these tracks are sped up - like how Frieren&apos;s perception of time is skewed, so is this playlist. 10 years might be a long time to us but, to her, it&apos;d only be a brief moment.
