Vellner: The Last Games

Ten Games. Five podiums. A decade the sport built itself around. Patrick Vellner is a Canadian CrossFit athlete, chiropractor, and one of the defining competitors in the history of the CrossFit Games, retiring after the 2026 season. He arrived in 2016 and finished third in his rookie year, and for the next ten years he was a fixture at the front of the sport. Five podium finishes. A Rogue Invitational title. Event wins across every discipline the Games could throw at an athlete, from the heaviest barbell in the field to the most technical gymnastics test on the floor. Whole eras of champions were measured against him. Whoever won it, they had to get past Pat first. The Final Rep follows him through his last season and back to San Jose for one final CrossFit Games. It's a film about longevity in a sport that chews through careers, about the athletes he mentored and the standard he set, and about what it means to be the guy everyone else was chasing. He competed with an openness that made people love the sport, and he stood up for the athletes in it when it counted. He went out the way he competed. He won the deadlift at 605 pounds, the only man in the field over 600. He took Triple Pig by fifteen seconds with the arena on their feet. Then he walked off the competition floor for the last time. A generation of athletes grew up watching him. The sport is what it is because he was in it.
