  There are a couple of theories to explain reduction in lifespans I learnt as a young Christian. &nbsp;Genesis describes a mantle (of water vapour) in the sky that collapsed during the flood. It was this that was protecting our genes from solar and cosmic radiation. &nbsp;The other possibility is the restricted gene pool of only one family (Noah&apos;s) which accelerated harmful mutations.<br>The bible says it was divine judgment, to limit the spread of evil.

  Pre flood environment is not like post flood environment...pre flood time the earth was like a bariatric chamber...high oxygen and higher PSI and H2O in the atmosphere blocks out UV radiation...today O3 , which is disappearing, screens out UV radiation. &nbsp;Original environment was destroyed by the fountains of the deep broke open and the heaven opened up the rain...entropy God already said heaven and earth will melt away.
