  My parents come from Shantou. Shantou is different from the rest of Guangdong because people there speak Teochew instead of Cantonese, and most people there can’t speak or understand a single word of Cantonese (not even basic words), except for those who work in the Pearl River Delta. Most people from Shantou who go to study in Guangzhou also tend to speak Mandarin more than Cantonese. It&apos;s a whole different scenario from Hakka regions like Meizhou or Heyuan where everyone can speak Cantonese or know some words (mostly young folks) besides their native dialect of Hakka.

  China is crazy in a nice way 😜... I&apos;m 70 and watched many videos and they are all so interesting and the people are very friendly with a culture to boot...I would love to visit one day hopefully...l manifest on that daily 😅.
