  If your compression tester doesn’t have a shredder valve in the end that goes into the head it will give you a lower reading.

  clutch is a Hartman oil bath clutch requiring a high temp light  weight oil.  Pulling the plug cap off the plug to kill engine will affect the Transistor controlled ignition module. There is a chance the clutch is a Hegar very similar to the Hartman.

  I graduated high school early back in 1975, so went to Garner NC to stay with my grandfather. Got a job at an Exxon service station in Raleigh NC on Hillsboro Avenue across from Meredith College. Met a guy who was friends with the owner of the Exxon station, who raced a situp kart, which had a McCullough 101AA 2-Cycle racing engine. He invited me to go with him to the Charlotte Motor Speedway. His cart was clocked at over 120 mph back in the 70's on the Daytona tri-oval track where they run the Daytona 500. But I saw karts at that race that looked like the one you have, but what I saw were karts that had  Triple B Bomb engines (3 of them), 2-cycle with expansion chambers that would actually get several inches longer (at idle, were held back with springs), as these karts were faster than the NASCAR cars were back then, and could run over 200 mph. Actually saw one at Charlotte to pass a NASCAR car on the back stretch of the track. I had never seen anything like that before. I'm now 67 years old.

  Also.    Any time a 2 stroke that you care about has sat for 10 years or more or if it's acting erratically put new crank seals in it.    Both side must be absolutely sealed perfectly.

  I loved racing these in the late 80s to mid 90s in Oregon  i have always waned another one
