If a house got cleared fast and something small went with it, this one is for you. The book has the two questions from the drawer chapter, every pair collected in one place, and the photograph with five lines in pencil on the back. https://twohousesbook.com, 543 pages, $47 early-bird, 30-day refund. When the box has one thing in it, leave the word done. And tell me which of the five you still have, and whose hand it's in.

Hurricane Ike decided we needed to be minimalist. So we went fr9m 4 bedroom 3 car garage 2 living rooms 4 bedrooms as empty nesters. We landed in a 670sf condo that stayed pretty empty for 8 years. Then we moved to another state, that was easy enough. I got deep in the weeds with minimalism. I am so glad I did, 8 now own 4 Rubbermaid containers of stuff. That's it, everything every room now fits in 4 tubs, and I am constantly looking to skim it down. There is literally no junk left, not even a random paperclip. My hoard is actually digital pictures, I have gotten rid of so many pictures with no regrets. I won't keep a picture that makes anyone look bad. Everyone looks good. I lost my best friend after 36 years, going through their stuff took time to sort.. but it's done now. My parents are still alive and still have everything they ever bought. I told my sister everything belongs to her except 1 or 2 worthless tiny items I want from mom. - my dad couldn't believe I don't want anything.

I recently went through photo albums. I took out all the pictures of my siblings, mostly as teenagers and some when my nephews were babies. I passed these on to my adult nephews and they loved it and had a great time making fun of their parents. I threw away pictures of people my kids don't know that were just taking up space. Lastly, I got rid of duplicates. I seemed to have taken 10 photos of the same thing 'just in case', so I picked out a couple of the best ones and threw the rest away. I got rid of five albums!

My parents recipe box written in my mother's and father's hand is priceless since they are both gone. But those recipes from my childhood live on.

1. The handwritten ( by someone else) recepy card
2. Old photographs but only with names, and dates and a little story written in pencil on it.
3. The highly personal collected small box of small keepsakes from a dear loved one.
4. Photo albums
5. The personal tools used daily by a loved one.
6. A textile that was heavily and personally used by a loved one and still has their scent or their shape - their tactile memory.
7. Everyday Paper things used, highly personal. Ledgers, the lists, the diary, the letters.

My mother Loved to take photos of everything. I now have been given thousands of photos to decide what to do with them. It is so overwhelming that last winter I decided it would be my project and take care of them somehow. I still have all the photos and another winter coming at me. Mmmmm.😢

No recipe cards
No photographs - No albums, and a few school yearbooks
My dad has accumulated tools for decades, and none of his sons want them. I don't have the space and do not wish to pay to store them.
Clothes - I was very heavy and lost weight. I kept it off for 10 years and then gained a lot of weight over the next 10-15 years. I kept all my clothes from that time and since, unless they wore out.
I am sure I have old notebooks from when I was a kid. I wonder if my mom has her old budget notebooks.

I miss pictures I had from a day at Lake Tahoe about 22 years ago. They were digital.

I am getting ready to clear space in my home, so I will be careful and watch for these items.
