  Crack the case on the umbreon and send it to TAG, they will send a full report of pics and shit explaining the grade

  the 5 is CRAZY, it being such an outlier is likely a couple of reasons. Almost all grading companies have specific criteria that they check per card, centering, surface, corners, edges (like displayed on BGS slabs), if centering was the only noticeable &apos;defect&apos; with the naked eye its probably because of 2 reasons. Think of how far it is off-centered as a number value, that one was likely very very low, even if its not exactly discernable with the naked eye. The second and most likely reason is a surface issue. They are very common and again not super discernable with the naked eye unless you are really looking for it, especially with a card like that with so much going on. Also important to keep in mind that they have equipment that just clears a naked eye. <br><br>As an example, the 10 you compared the umbreon to had centering problems as well, if the surface, corners, edges, were all a 10 and the centering was a 9 or 9.5 that is why the 10 was given. PSA does not follow BGS exactly, its just for the sake of the example for some clarification. I would imagine that the surface scored very low, and the centering scored very low and that is why it was a 5. With that being said it is still extremely odd and seems like a QC issue, PSA is known for a lot of QC issues, especially with Pokémon. There are a ton of videos were people grade with PSA and crack them and grade elsewhere and the differences are quite drastic in most cases. <br><br>In the card scene as a whole, PSA is truly only holding on because they are still at the forefront of holding and adding value to cards just because its PSA. Most other grading companies are much better, more consistent, and cheaper with grading. Excluding a black label nothing adds more value than a PSA 10 so most send stuff there and deal with the BS. <br><br>At the end of the day PSA is definitely not perfect but if they gave you a 5 the card is prolly a lil fucked up cause a 5 is fuckin crazy. I mean baseball cards that are visibly beat to shit from the 40&apos;s get 5&apos;s. Crazier things have happened but I would be surprised if you cracked and resubmitted and got anything higher than a 7 anywhere. If the card wasn&apos;t as valuable or sought after as it is there may be more lenience, but that&apos;s an entirely different story. <br><br>Another avenue to consider would be to just crack it and send it back to PSA and get it authenticated and slabbed up, it wont show a grade but will still be a slab and fit the rest of your collection well. If you have even a little bit of OCD having multiple different slabs from different companies it just feels and looks off, especially if it will be on display with the rest. IMO you should either crack it and keep it raw (one touch), send it back to get just authenticated, or resubmit and just live with the results, or resubmit and if its shit again send to just get authenticated after. <br><br>Hopefully this taught you a little ball, good luck papa.
