His approach to his faith is as refreshing as I’ve ever heard. I’d be closest to an atheist, but Steve is so charming about his approach to faith in that he fully embraces what other people believe and how they choose to live their lives.

As a father, I would find it tough to find a better role model to look up to as a father and as a man.

I'm 42, Steve Young was my absolute hero as a kid. I had a poster of him on my wall, his niner jersey, BYU football cards. I was left handed like him and I am a huge BYU fan. I met him one time at the Provo 4th of July parade when he was at the height of his fame and career. He was walking through the crowd with a hat pulled down low so people didn't notice him although at the time I didn't realize that. When I saw him I grabbed the manilla paper off the back of my moms check book and a pen and ran to catch up with him as he walked. It was then I noticed as I asked him for his autograph that he was trying not to be noticed so I felt bad, but he talked to me as we walked and took a minute to sign that paper. What an absolute stellar human being he was to do that for a little 12 year old boy who had met his hero. I still have that autograph and the corner of it is dark from the oils in my index finger and thumb on a hot day in July because I wouldn't let anyone else touch it and that was the only place where I would hold it. Dude is an absolute stud

As a lifelong 49er fan i was a big time Joe Montana fan. But Steve Young won me over with his toughness, class, and dignity. He is one of my favorite quarterbacks off all time and one of my favorite prople ever.

This is phenomenal, and the story Steve shares at 1hr 15 min is so touching it led me to tears.
