kate here...revisiting after a month...the topiary trimming caught my eye as the gardener was using pair of antique sheep shears...our farm has been "trimming" sheep for 50 years..started with that same type of shears.

Ah, brilliant Battersea! <br><br>What a magnificent sight. I remember watching the early coverage back in the day, heart in mouth, wondering if they could truly pull off a rescue of this great brick behemoth without ruining its soul.<br><br>Having had the good fortune to wander around just as the dust was settling and the final finishing touches were going in, I was utterly captivated. An absolute triumph of scale! <br>Yes, it has been given a thoroughly modern commercial second act, but to see Giles Gilbert Scott’s masterpiece saved, standing proud over the Thames, and anchoring the whole neighbourhood for generations to come... well, that is something to raise a glass of something suitably fizzy'n'suitably cold to!

Boy, does the Closed Captioning really murder the proper names, but as a New Englander, and something of an Anglophile, even I know Batsy is Battersea. Grabbing a cup of tea and am prepared ro be enthralled by yet another Sir TR video...
