What I’ve learned from this guy is that you have to compartmentalize and lock in to the survival mindset and use all the skills you’ve learned in your life to protect yourself from the elements and focus on obtaining the food your body counts on by focusing on what you need to do to accomplish those goals without thinking about anything else. A lot of psychology and knowledge, but be able to adapt and adjust to the environment at hand and any setbacks that may come about. He hits all those wickets and that’s why he won. I hardly ever heard him moan! He just adjusted and got on with it.😊

Makes total sense he can catch food in a plentiful way and not know how to keep it. A totally new experience for all Alone contestants.

William was not just a top rate survivalist but also a boon to production by capturing such amazingly detailed footage. As viewers we are not always aware of how much extra effort is involved in the camera work.

Willie- You had the perfect ice-box,right at your shore line. Had you dug a deep hole,right near shore and put your food in the gater,with a heavy stone and submerged it under water-NO SCENT-perfect temp. and NO LOSS! It might attract a few craw-dads but they cant get thru the gater. The best part of this cach, is you could make a crab trap easy enough and would have plenty of protein every day with minimum food loss as bait. ( I've been a nature-boy all my life, and I salute you in your quest!)

Man, you guys picked the right fella for your show. I learned tons by watching him and his skills. He is so deserving of winning that money. Thanks for sharing his time with us. God Bless him and his family. He’s the real deal and he ain’t ravaged like you see the other winners who just made it an endurance contest physically. I think he will come out gaining weight and not looking like Clay Hays and others looking like scarecrows!😂😲🤣

Spent the entire season on the other guys while this dude was just out there living. Always the quiet ones. :) Loved watching him survive.
