  There's a beach in Crete/Greece, can't remember the name,  that I visited, went into the water and noticed a very strong undertow pulling me out to sea but the surf threw me back onto the beach, but all of a sudden I found myself beyond the surf, the swell was incredible, one second it was below my knee, next it lifted me up 10 feet, I started swimming towards the beach but was going backwards and getting very tired, then out of nowhere a wave boke flinging me onto the beach, that day 5 people drowned on that beach. The red flags were out, I was young and stupid.

  I was living in Sydney on the northern beaches whilst travelling from the UK. Unwise and young I went for a swim at Whale Beach in winter (no surf guards) although I could see a rip moving up and down the shore. For the next hour or so  I was pulled out and along the shore and when I managed to get back in I was shattered. Thankfully I am a strong swimmer and most importantly was educated by the surf guards at Manly beach on how to get back. DO NOT panic and NEVER swim against the rip saved my life and I've never been more relieved to be standing on sand 🙏

  I definitely thought i was gonna die at that 1st beach in st marten. That plane blew me across the water & it was hot air to

  Nice channel. The tiger shark patrols many tropical beaches in Australia, West Indies, Florida, Hawaii. The largest tropical shark often loves to swim at tourist destinations.

  You missed the most dangerous beach of all, Second Beach in Port St.Johns, Eastern Cape, South Africa. More fatal shark attacks off that beach than any other.

  The beach where I live always makes these lists. NSB does have shark attacks yes but it’s mostly from blacktip sharks because they are migrating. Happens twice per year is when most attacks happen. The other dangers are riptides and lightning strikes. Last year while we were on vacation in Hawaii one person was bit by a shark and another was struck and k_lled by lightning when the skies were still blue. We have a lot of lightning especially the last few years. Yet people still flock to here with the ugly murky green water.
