PSA: The difference between messing around, and real science, is writing it down.
As you continue, make sure your measuring as many variables as possible, and changing as little as you can between tests so that you can pinpoint exactly what effect that change had.

Bro this is a life saver. I’m doing spiderman web shooters for a science fair project but I could t get the formula right, thanks for this.

Now you gotta build the muscle to swing with it

Your voice sounds so casual throughout the whole video as you’re literally making web fluid irl 😭

Dude, i have a crazy idea, what if some way, on ejection of the web fluid, the sunstance was spun in a circular motion so it makes like a string. Just throwing that out there.

Miles bro you gotta use a different nozzle which doesn't spread the fluid these are designed to spread the liquid everywhere so use a more focused concentrated nozzle or smth like that yk it will concentrate all the layers to one

yo ik this might be lil ambitious but we had, for my Chemistry class, made a compound able to reach over 50 pounds of lifting force
but it will need lots of equipement ill give you exacly whata i wrote on my research documentation:

Materials:
Polymer Base: 15 grams of High Molecular Weight Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) powder (99%+ hydrolyzed, approx. 89,000–98,000 MW).
Cross-Linking Agent: 5 grams of Sodium Tetraborate or the use of 99.99% isopropyline alcohol.
Extruder: One 60 mL Luer-Lock syringe.Nozzle: One 14-Gauge blunt-tip dispensing needle (has an internal diameter of 1.6 mm, expands to a 2.5 mm strand due to fluid die swell).
Mixing Liquids: Distilled water.

Preperation:

Part A: 15% PVA solution
Measure 100 mL of distilled water into a beaker.
Slowly stir in 15 grams of PVA powder to avoid clumping.
Heat the mixture on a laboratory hotplate to 85°C (185°F) while stirring constantly.
Do not let it boil.Keep stirring until the liquid is completely clear and thick like honey.
Let it cool down completely to room temperature.

Step B: Borax solution
Measure 100 mL of warm distilled water into a separate container.
Add 5 grams of Borax powder and stir until completely dissolved

Step C: Borax

Load the Extruder: Draw the cooled, thick PVA web fluid into the 60 mL syringe.
Attach the Nozzle: Twist the 14-gauge blunt needle firmly onto the Luer-lock tip of the syringe.
Prepare the Target: Place a small sponge or cloth soaked in the Borax Activator solution onto your 100-pound test weight anchor point.
Extrude the Strand: Firmly depress the syringe plunger to extrude a continuous, thick 2.5 mm strand directly onto the soaked target.
Allow the Flash-Cure: Let the strand sit in contact with the activator for 30 to 45 seconds. The Borax will instantly cross-link the PVA polymer chains, turning the liquid stream into a highly resilient, solid plastic cable.
Perform the Lift: Slowly apply tension to your cured polymer cable to demonstrate its weight capacity.

Step B:isopropyline alchohol

extra parts:
One 3-Way Luer-Lock Stopcock Valve: This allows two liquids to feed into one tube simultaneously.
One Secondary 20 mL Syringe: This will hold your 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.
A Clear Vinyl Coagulation Tube: A 10 cm piece of flexible clear tubing with an internal diameter (ID) of 3.0 mm.
A Restrictor Cap: A small plastic cap or a modified needle hub with a 2.5 mm opening to fit at the very end of your clear tube.

Plan:

Step 1: Prepare the 3-Way Valve (The Manifold)The 3-way stopcock valve is a T-shaped connector with three ports and a rotating plastic dial in the middle.Hold the valve so the "straight-through" track goes from top to bottom, and one port sticks out to the left or right side.
Step 2: Attach the SyringesThe Top Port: Take your 60 mL syringe filled with your thick, honey-like PVA web fluid. Press it firmly into the top port of the valve and twist it clockwise to lock it into the Luer thread. This ensures the web fluid flows straight down the center line. The Side Port: Take your 20 mL syringe filled with the 99% Isopropyl Alcohol. Push and twist it into the side port of the valve. The alcohol will enter from the side and wrap around the central PVA stream.
Step 3: Attach the Curing TubeTake your 10 cm piece of clear vinyl tubing (3.0 mm inside diameter).Push one end of this tube firmly over the remaining bottom exit port of the 3-way valve. If it feels tight, warming the tip of the plastic tube under hot water for a few seconds will make it slide on easily. Once it cools, it will form a watertight, pressurized seal.
Step 4: Attach the Exit NozzleTake your 14-Gauge blunt-tip dispensing needle (or custom 2.5 mm cap).Push the plastic hub of the nozzle firmly into the open, dangling end of your clear vinyl tube. This acts as the final "die" or bottleneck that squishes the curing polymer strands together into a single, cohesive 100-pound cable as it shoots out.

to load it you will just have to put the isopropyline alchohol into the secondary 20ml luer-lock syringe

stats:
borax: 50 to 60 pounds (these are the lowest and highest value we got)

isopropyline: 157 to 428 pounds(these are the lowest and highest value we got)

also for info when we did the calculations the borax can hit a maximum of 74 punds while the isopropyline can reach up to 749 pounds
