An honest, completely real authentic soul that shares so much of himself. I so very much respect him.

Rafa is proving us again the great soul he is. Sharing all of that it's not easy. Respect!

During his entire career, I rooted for Rafa and never knew that he was almost in pain. I am grateful that I saw most of his matches and respect him as an athlete and a human being. Thank you Rafa.

A promising tennis career that almost ended months after his 1st grand slam title. His health revelation has given us even more appreciation for his long career. His mental toughness and pain management for a professional athlete is second to none.

The game of tennis is so boring without you, Rafa.

The trophies tell one story, but the sacrifices and struggles tell another.

My favourite tennis player because of the incredible humility and class paired with talent and tenacity.

I met Rafa for the first time in 2005 at the Miami Open in Key Biscayne when he was 19, that was the first year that I started during security for all the top tennis players aka (Player Escort) which i did for the next 10 years. I was able to hit with his coach Francisco Roig one time for like 10 minutes while Rafa was resting. Rafa is the only professional tennis player who has actually seen me hit tennis balls and he said I wasn't bad. I started at 12 and later became a Tennis Instructor in my early 30's by way of the VanDerMeer Tennis Academy in Hilton Head, S.C Rafa was such a nice guy and so down to earth and it was amazing to be able to work with him for 10 years when he was in his prime. Enjoy your retirement Rafa, you deserve it 👏🏼

I had the pleasure of watching Rafael play at a Masters and get his autograph. 💞

Man, this guy is such an unbelievable icon for tennis. His aura just radiates even through a video. You walk on any tennisclub and check juniors and you'll find many Rafa shirt, racquets etc. Kids know the greatness of this guy. It is really unmatched and goes wayyy beyond his titles. Miss him so much!
