This is 12 years back, but TI now has a chip which it claims can produce + and - 5V at up to 250 mA - from a single capacitor charge pump running at up to 2MHz.

Micro controller spec sheets warn against driving capacitive loads, so buffering the io pin may be required. Great video mate! Thanks.
