well fabi said during the ding-gukesh match that the french has the best theoretical standing it had in a long time, so it's quite in style. fabi played it, ding did succesfully and many others started to play it.

When I was a chess kid in NYC in the the sixties the hotshots would blitz out this opening, calling it the Barza system. The Fischer game you showed is not in 60 Memorable Games but is covered in The Kings Indian Attack by Angus Dunnington.
