dude! I totally appreciate your 'demo' style. I didn't realize it was anything less or more than a great demo style

I always enjoy Phil's demos, and I'd be happy if I could play as well as he does. Most of all, I appreciate that fact that Phil always keeps it real and doesn't take himself too seriously. Can't say the same about Beato (though I do enjoy his interviews) .

Rick Beato was a music professor and I get the feeling he is naturally highly critical in addition to being analytical. Maybe something that comes out more in unedited interactions with him. I can just imagine the concept of not grinding yourself into bone meal to improve a skill being so foreign and inconceivable to him, and here comes Phil the guy who doesn't even listen to guitar demos. Hilarious and well told.

Phil, you are the master of information. I don't watch your videos to see you play but I think you're pretty good. I really get a lot out your channel and I am a bassist. I have not found any purely bass or guitar channels up to your level of information and expertise.

 1. I didn't realize how important neck shape was in my first 10-15 years of playing, because I pretty much just played an Ibanez RG with a silly-thin Wizard neck. It was trying out my first Gibsons (an Explorer and a few LPs) that made me stop like, "Whoa. This is much more comfortable." Thing is, Ibanez usually ticks all the other boxes, but I've actually resorted to aftermarket necks (tons of trial-and-error) to find a neck I like and replace 'em. And even still, I'll sand down some for comfort.

2. I 100% appreciate the "I practice as I can; I play to just demo things (and full songs off the channel)". I'm also middle aged and just not interested in someone else's goals or assessments. With all due respect to Beato, of course ;) His started off with showing his kids' virtuosity, so there's a different angle there.

I super appreciate your honesty here. We don't need to play like Satch or Slash. You're great as you are. And that goes to everyone that might read this comment
