These weren't clones this all takes place thousands of years before the rise of the clone army.

12:10 That’s Malgus’ lover, Eleera Daru, he saved her from slave pens on Geonosis. But she never fully agreed with what he was doing, and eventually Malgus killed her because he came to the conclusion that she was his weakness. Then he regretted it and became more powerful because of it.

At the point of the last trailer, Malgus is 63 years old. When you think about, how "badly" a 57 year old Obi Wan fought.... he did well.

The two cinematics with the third party faction. The Zakuul Empire

The old guy is Emperor Valkorion (Also known as Emperor Vitiate that ruled the Sith empire on the side for 1000yrs)

The twins, Thexan(the one who died) and Arcann. Originally Arcann wasnt supposed to go with Thexan on this war agaisnt the galaxy but he did. He essentially had daddy issues because he wasnt as good as Thexan and wanted his fathers approval.

The girl was Vaylin, their younger sister. Extremely powerful in the force. Valkorion was fearful of her and sent her away in an attempt to seal her power as much as possible. Senya, the mother, is Valkorions wife, the captain of the Zakuul Knights (the guys in gold armor).

Extremely low resolution loredump on the SWtOR timeline: As more and more planets joined the republic people from different planets began exchanging ideas, this includes those with a strong connection with the force. Eventually on the planet Tython they gathered in large numbers to see if they could finally crack the mysteries of this "force".
The also discovered the dark side here and most of these proto-jedi rejected it, because this is Star Wars the dark siders took this poorly and a civil war broke out between them.
The dark siders lost, the survivors fled republic space and the victors over time evolved onto the Jedi Order.

The dark sider survivors eventually discovered a new species outside of republic space on Korriban... the Sith (red skinned "master" from the first cinematic). These sith had a culture that meshed very well with the darks sider's philosophies and where naturally strong in the force but had no idea how to use it, the dark siders would teach their nobility it's secrets in exchange for possitions of power in their society. In time one of the dark siders would find a way to use the force to allow inter-species reproduction and the dark siders married into the sith nobility making the two synonymous.

The now force empowered Sith empire would begin to expand rapidly until they enevitably meet the republic, who by now had the Jedi order firmly established within them. Because this is Star Wars this started a war between them.
The republic would win and they went full scorched earth on the sith empire, claiming their territories and wiping out the Sith... or so they thought. Enough Sith had survived the genocide to regroup beyond explored space and would spend the next 1000 years rebuilding their military for the explicit purpose of getting revenge... Terrible people but you've got to respect that level of commitment.
the Sith emperor during this would dissapear "into seclusion" for most of the reconstruction, it would later be revealed that he was in fact starting a whole new empire on Zakuul with the full intention of betraying the Sith because would you want to share power with those guys?

The first cinematic you watched (Return) was the Sith empire's innitial assault, in the third (Deceived) the war had been grinding on too long, the Sith's plan had been to overwhelm the Republic before they could mount a propper defence and it had failed. It had turned into a brutal war of attrition and both sides where wearing thin, so they began cease fire talks, the Sith used these talks as an oppertunity to devastate Coruscant, not because it would win the war but so they could force the Republic onto unfavourable terms and to inflict maximum damage to put the republic at a disadvantage when hostilities renew.

Star Wars the Old Republic starts a decade after the cease fire, both sides have been rebuilding and the cease fire is at it's breaking point.

Glossing over the myriad of conflicts that come thereafter but the republic comes out on top but never fully eradicates the Sith. Eventually there raises Darth Bane, a Sith lord with the rarest of talents... basic patern recognition. He concludes that the reason the Sith keep losing is the constant infighting and power-plays among them, often stabbing each other in the back at the worst possible time His solution is to slaughter his "peers" and institute the rule of two. From the onward "Always two there are, no more, no less".

And then Star Wars became a Disney property and all of this is now non-canon. Joy

Bit of info for you, the Zabrac Jedi (Maul looking guy) was the battle master of the order. Basically the one who oversees teaching Jedi to fight.

If disney wants to have a big win with fans they could just commison a whole movie/series animated like this about SWTOR/KOTOR. These are so good and any Star Wars fan I have seen seems to love adore them like me.

Darth Malgus, Marr, and Jadus are beasts. Think Jadus was considered second to the emperor in terms of power at the time

15:58 They are a third-party in the current Great Galactic War/Republic-Sith War. The Eternal Twins work for their father, Lord Valkorion, a Sith Lord whose empire is called the Eternal Empire. He also wouldn’t consider himself a Sith however, unbeknownst to everyone, an ancient Sith entity Lord Tenebrae inhabits his mind. Playing the war from 2 sides. As he rules the Reconstituted Sith Empire as “Lord Vitiate.” Which is his main body.

The current war is the Republic/Jedi Order vs. the Reconstituted Sith Empire.

The guy who voices Malgus is Jamie Glover, son of Julian Glover who played General Veers in The Empire Strikes back (the guy leading the AT-AT attack during the battle of Hoth) Jamie also happens to voice his dad’s character Veers in the original Battlefront 1 and 2 games as well. I didn’t even know that his son did voice over work, let alone voiced Malgus until recently so that was cool, since I’m a Veers fan.
