  Mua cave 1 star?  Wow. It was one of the best hikes I did in Ninh Binh.  Pro tip go as early as possible for no crowds

  We went in a cave in Palawan Philippines and they gave us hard hats and life jackets to wear. I dont think the ceiling ever got that close to our heads,

  We just got back home a few hours ago after a 10-day trip to North Vietnam, which included trips to all the places you showed here, and despite various challenges we had a great time. The puppets were amazing. A few dollars to watch a unique show featuring around 10 puppeteers and maybe eight musicians. Loved it.<br>Mua Cave was busy, extremely humid (and it rained) but well worth the 500-step climb.<br>The Tam Coc boat ride wasn&apos;t busy because the whole region has been hit by floods resulting in closures and altered routes of boat rides in the area but it was still great. <br>The other really popular tourist destination in North Vietnam is Sapa, a longish trip from Hanoi, but we only discovered on arrival that the highlight (monorail, cable car, funicular railway trip to the summit of Indochina&apos;s highest mountain peak- Fansipan) was closed for maintenance. Even so, we found enough to do around there to make the trip worthwhile.<br>Be prepared though. The streets of Hanoi are chaotic and most of the Vietnamese food we had was surprisingly bland compared to Thai and Indonesian food. <br>Also, timing is important. Vietnam is very accessible from Asia, so time your visit if you want to avoid big crowds. Also bear in mind that the weather changes considerably from region to region and season to season.

  Ahh yes, Trang An can be crowded in the afternoon. We went early in the morning and the crowd is much more manageable. Ninh Binh is much more manageable if you stay at least a night or two.
