I've always wondered why Gus's family was never featured in the movie. It never occurred to me that he might not have had one, and that the children's toys were props

The reason why Gus puts so much effort into everything being perfect and clean, even when he doesn't have to, is because he most likely has OCPD... (I happen to be diagnosed with OCD, OCD fluctuates with your anxiety level. So if you feel very nervous, the symptoms are gonna become more severe. With OCD, even tho I don't need to do something, I HAVE TO do it for my brain to stop nagging at me to do it, so yeah... (and also in a very specific way, how my brain has pictured it should be done, otherwise it's not good/neat/clean enough and I have to do it again. The same is true with OCPD (what Gus very likely has), but instead of depending on your anxiety/stress level, OCPD symptoms are pretty consistent over time, and not linked to your stress or anxiety level a lot.
