If you’re the kind of person who listens to creepy haunted dolls, well, I guess all I can do is pray for your soul. But here you go: https://www.patreon.com/corkboardsandcuriosities

Here Val, as usual, shows the rest of us up with her incredible production value paired with excellent advice!

One thing I'll do if I think a conversation with an NPC has run its course is to switch to 3rd person narration and say someone like "Having nothing more to add, they bid you good day and get back to their work." It helps break the current back and forth and get the players moving on to the next scene. Great video!

I was following the advice pretty well until I realised that the video itself was so well-paced that it made 10 minutes feel like 2 minutes.

This video is really well composed. Framing, pacing, and writing too. This channel is not viewed in proportion to its value.

I'm here from a video about cliffhangers from TheMysticArts channel, he suggested I watch this video first. Excellent content, the information structured in such an easy to watch way with very clean cinematography. Definitely coming back for more!

2 things I’ll take to my table:
1. Prompting players of their character’s thoughts as the camera pans out from the scene.
2. Asking my players what scenes they’re into after the episode credits have rolled.
Thanks Val!
Also, love those scenes with you and your cat, especially the belly-up sprawl XD

One technique I started using with my highly distractable players is that I pick an opening and closing "credits" song for each campaign. This way, people can chit chat and catch up, then we go over any game related info (scheduling etc), then I play the opening song while we do the recap. We're all now Pavlov'ed into "game mode" when hear those first few notes. It's also a great way to show story progression - we closed out the first main arc of the campaign, so I found a different cover of our closing song to signal end of session that is more akin to the current storyline.
