Okay production, but a few things need correcting.
- Lead poisoning: Presented as settled, but Beattie's 1984 theory has largely been dismantled — Millar/Bowman/Battersby (Polar Record 2014) found the levels were probably normal for 1840s Britons, and a 2018 PLOS ONE bone study found no support for lead as a primary cause. Current thinking: starvation, scurvy, TB, zinc deficiency. (possible a combination)

- The canned food: "partially spoiled before canning" isn't supported — no records of the tins' condition survive past July 1845. The claim is back-projected from the 1852 Goldner scandal, but that inquiry examined Franklin's supplies too and didn't implicate them; the condemned batches came from the 1850–51 contracts. The excess lead solder is real.

- Fitzjames was identified in 2024, not 2021. 2021 was John Gregory, engineer of Erebus.
- Lady Franklin: 1828 was her first marriage. Franklin was the widower — Eleanor Porden died in 1825.
- The Admiralty declared the crew dead in early 1854, effective 31 March — months before Rae's report reached London in October. They couldn't have used it as a pretext.
- Last letters went home from Greenland with the Barretto Junior in July 1845. Dannett and the Prince of Wales carried no mail.
- Polar night on King William Island (69°N) is about six weeks, not four months. Four months isn't right for Beechey either — that's roughly three.

Contrary to popular belief the amount of lead found in the bodies was no greater than traces found in any other body from Victorian Britain.

Great history lesson, I read somewhere that in hindsight they chose the worst year to go as it turned out to be the worse and longest freeze in that area in the last century. Is that right?

Why are you calling it a failed Alaska journey

I thought this was a Northern Canadian Journey by the North West Territories. We as Canadians really do exsist.
