  I love Deuteronomy; my fav is 30:6. God gave me discernment to listen to Jesus: “No man can come to me unless God, the Father who sent me, draws him” (John 6:44). <br><br>No man = you, me, pastor, preacher, priest, religious zealot. . . <br><br>God chose to have mercy (Romans 9:15) on me by convicting my deceitful/wicked heart (Jeremiah 17:9) unto repentance. <br><br>Only then did HE, simultaneously, circumcise my heart AND the hearts of my descendants to love HIM with all my heart, with all my soul and with all my strength that I might live. As HE commands in Chapter 6. <br><br>God never asks us for anything that HE doesn’t first give us. Augustine said it so succinctly: God, grant what thou commandeth and command what thou wilt. <br><br>Soli Deo Gloria.

  It is a powerful chapter in scripture, but you can’t go by Deuteronomy 6 alone. There is a reason God gave us the rest of the Bible that he wants us to know.
