CORRECTIONS:
1. Having the 'Power Control' signal (the one set to 4 in the video) directly up to a energy detector can cause heat gain if the signal is flickering on and off too quickly. I would recommend using a repeater set to 128 ticks as a buffer to prevent flickering.
2. I noticed that I have one of the repeaters set to 4 ticks in the video. On my setup that I have done all my testing on, it is actually set to 8 ticks. I am not sure if this causes issues, but just something to be aware of. Will update this comment after doing some testing.

Just came back to my playthrough after a while and saw that you released a new version of this. I switched over to this design even though I never had problems with the old one (thankfully). I like the fact that the reactor shuts down for the coolant swapout a lot, it makes it make more sense - although hot-swapping coolant cells in a live reactor had a vibe to it that was unmatched... Thank you for your work!

Some things to consider:

uranium version makes 5 IV or 21 EV or 85 HV (it rounds down to integer ampers based on what cable you use)
thorium version maeks 4 EV or 17 HV

Timer must be set so that the cells gain less than 25 procent heat, so that they never get from above 25 to 0 between one cycle of switching cells
For thorium version, you lose about 5 procent on the middle cell in 55 seconds, so you can set the timer to 2 or 3 minutes and you will be fine (maybe close to 4 minutes)

You need to offset the cells on symmetric positions by at least 25 procent
because of that, you will never have to switch both of them at once, which means that you only switch at most half of the cells
for the cells that are not on the symmetric positions, there is not a good way of making sure that they all dont synchronize at some point, which would switch half of the cells at once

The two repeaters next each other (4 ticks and 64 ticks) are there for this reason:
- 4 tick repeater will stop reactor faster than 32 tick repeater turns on coolant control
- 64 tick repeater will start reactor later than 32 tick repeater turns off coolant control
IMPORTANT: Timer has 64 tick repeater after it, but master and power control does not. (because this part of circuit actually does not work for short signal)
SIGNAL SHORTER THAN 64 TICKS (power or master control), MIGHT ALLOW THE REACTOR TO TURN ON IN THE MIDDLE, WHEN THE COOLANT CONTROL IS TURNED ON.

For anyone else struggling with issues with this I fixed mine by breaking and replacing all my ender item and rs conduits.

I was also getting random explosions with MOX that were too small to be reactor explosions, I think it was because my battery buffer for the freezer was next to the reactor and randomly being set on fire. Moving it away seems to have solved it.

Why is my Vacuum Freezer breaking down?

Do i need to change anything if i use thorium?

Is there a way to change it to a MOX ?

Hey man, I'm playing on version 2.7.3 — 55 seconds feels way too long. 30 seconds seems like the sweet spot. I wonder if the heat buildup rate increased in newer updates?

Hi Isoarcree. Thanks for this tutorial, I used your last setup from January to april at this system push my base from early IV to Late IV and I want to push it to Fusion.
Let me introduce some feedback and an improvement : I used MOx fuel in a heat neutral reactor capped at 80% of hull heat. The next schematic produce a 90k-92k reactor and is compatible with your infrastructure. You need a big amout of Plutonium to start a Mox Vacuum reactor (360 plutonium) and I suggest to do plutonium bee to reach this value. after reaching late IV I started to have random tick heat (and a reactor has exploded). So let me take a week to change my reactors and adapt with your new version. Im giving a feedback to you when it finished.

This is the schematic (M (Mox) and C (Coolant)) :
---------------------------------
I MMCMMMCMM I
I CMMMCMMMC I
I MMMCMCMMM I
I MCMMMMMCM I
I CMMMCMMMC I
I MMCMMMCMM I
---------------------------------
