I am the father to two girls adopted from China. Our oldest daughter was from Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. She was 8 months old when we adopted her, and she is now 26. Our youngest was from Yibin, Sichuan Province. She was 2 years old when we adopted her, and she is now 21. As of yet, we have not traveled back to China, but hope to someday. I have 5 adopted daughters…..2 from China and 3 from Cambodia. They are all grown now and I wish so much that all of them could meet their birth families and have a relationship. Two of my daughters, who are bio sisters from Cambodia have found their extended family. Bless you my dear! 💝

It sounded to me, since the dna was done so fast, that your biological family was waiting for you (had looked for you).  The ancestral fireworks was confirmation.  The family is whole. Speedy healing to all of you!  The future is full of wonderous things.  Thank you for sharing your story!

In 2020, when I was 70 years old, I found that I was adopted when I was 3 years old.    After some frenzy searches and a lot of phone calls, I found my three siblings still living.  I managed to meet then in person finally in March, 2023 in a mutual place outside the US and China.  I know personally how you fell.

I was adopted from Vietnam by an American family. Your story is so beautiful and I felt a strong resonance with it. I always wondered if my birth mom cared about me or thought of me. She was only 16-17 when she had me, so who knows if she would even want to meet me. A few months ago we got in contact with my birth mother and her family through the agency I was adopted from. My parents told me the good news that my family in Vietnam wanted to see me and were crying with joy. I am so excited to go to Vietnam after I graduate and see where I am from!

It shows a great maturity and confidence on your part that you made your journey to find your Chinese family one of openness and acceptance instead of bitterness and regret.  Now you have two very different families that you can claim as your own.  I wish you much joy as you continue to learn more about both families and therefore yourself. 😊

I am also adopted from china during the one child policy. I grew up in Texas my whole life with a Mexican mom & white dad. This video was so inspirational to watch. I was never really interested in connecting with my biological family. Not because I didn't care, but because of how I would feel. And what I would even say? But watching your journey has given me a beautiful perspective. And gently reminding me i could be possibly missing out on something beautiful. So happy for you, this brought tears of joy to my eyes 🥹❤️
