I could listen to him all day. I didn't know Major Winters had a cousin who was a paratrooper.

Thank you for your service Mr. Winters. I thank you sir because it’s all I can do. I was too young when you all came home, born in 1969.

C141 was the worse plane to jump from. That sensation of being sucked out the door and sometimes banging into the side of the fuselage was a real treat…so preferred the C130 or the CH47 Chinook.

I had a paratrooper uncle in WW2. He was killed during the invasion of Sicily, 9 July 1943.

I had the opportunity to meet him and talked to him for over an hour back in May during Week of the Eagle here at Ft Campbell. An amazing man!

I’ve been waiting for this interview. Thank you for your service and your family’s dedication to our nation. My great grandfather served in WWII . I grew up listening to his stories as a teenager after my stepfather came back from Kosovo. My grandfather saw the change in him and decided that it was time to open up about his service. William Lovin left the UofA to serve his country during WWII only to return and graduate with his masters degree in education and continue to serve his community until his death in 2004❤
