CPS ALWAYS tries to place children with family or close friends first. <br><br>That DOESN'T require a foster license. <br><br>CPS tried to get me to take my neighbors daughter for an indefinite amount of time after she stayed with me for 3 months while her mother ran the streets. I said no...I have my own children and they come first. They asked me 2 more times and I said I was sorry... but no. <br><br>That part of the story was a little un-believable.

The OP's cousin is an absolute failure of a mother and needs to get serious help for her own sake before it's too late,at least the OP can help out with the kids and the father and put this unfortunate experience behind them for now.

I’m always amazed how the narrator always goes against their friends’ or lawyer’s advice regarding showing up for secretive meetings in coffee shops or parks. Never.

...why the hell wasn't the custody hearings completely ruled in Mark's favor the MOMENT that Lolita kidnapped the children? That sort of thing should have flat out ripped her parental rights away permanently and she should never have been given bail. And why the hell wasn't Charlie arrested for child abuse?
