  I was Narain's mechanic in British Formula Ford in 1994  :-) He was a very brave driver

  It's funny the weird nicknames that have come from Vettel ranting at people. Torpedo, Cucumber... Man is creative with his insults

  He might not be a quality driver like Verstappen or Leclerc, but he made sure that a country of a Billion people(who are way obsessed with Cricket) got to know what F1 is. That itself is an achievement for me.

  It is tough to become an F1 driver from India, we Indian F1 fans have a lot of respect for Narain Karthikeyan.

  As an Indian, I really wanted this guy to perform well. He still has my respect for being able to compete in F1, given how competitive / expensive it is and given how there is no infrastructure / support for the sport.

  What strikes the most about him is his sheer determination, his results don&apos;t communicate his passion for racing, it&apos;s only by looking at his career that you realise how much he loves racing!

  He&apos;s still a big thing in India. Most non F1 fans in India relate to F1 with Schumacher or Karthikeyan

  I’m one of the “pandemic fans” who started watching formula 1 this season but I have to say, good or bad, Narain did introduce an entire country to Formula 1. Even before I started watching and when I was a wee little kid, formula 1 was on everybody’s lips in India because of Narain.
