Obviously college and pro ball 45 years ago was vastly different from today's versions. Bird's game transcended eras and changes in playing style. His tremendous court vision enabled him to make passes through the slightest gaps in space and time.

During Larry's 3 years at ISU, I was in junior high school and I went to every single home game except for the 1979 Wichita State game. This was such an amazing time for all of us ISU fans.

Indiana State never was ranked in the top 20 again after 79, shows the greatness of Bird.

Amazed to come across Wayne Robinson (Virgina Tech #40). He played in Europe in the 80s, mainly in Spain, for a few years very succesfully. I have great memories of him.

Bird playing with his left hand thumb fractured in multiple places. Paul George missed multiple games with a left pinky injury for the Sixers this season despite getting paid over 50 mil.

I assume NBC had Enberg and McGuire doing another region. Odd to hear Packer teamed up with Jim Simpson. But they seemed to work good together. Larry Bird was something else. He could do it all. He was even great with a broken thumb. How many could be so good with an injury like that!

Good Lord, I just realised this show was taped in '04...and the GEICO Gecko was still their mascot!
