  There are a lot of comments on here coming from people that may not fully appreciate the fact that a PTO flail mulcher can easily cost $3,500 USD. Regardless of balance or gear ratio, you have made something functional from scraps and stock. Using the differential to increase the drum speed of the flail was clever to say the least. Although it’s easy to question the decisions made in this build, I can see a level of intentionality and forethought that leads me to believe that you understand what it is that you’re doing and have determined the method that works best with your goal in mind.

  Can't believe I just sat and watched this entire video. I have no access to the tools, equipment, steel, or parts, needed to build one, and don't even have a need for a Flail Mower. But, dang if this wasn't an interesting video. Thanks for sharing.

  this is incredible! I often build my tractor attachments because for what you get, the prices are crazy.  I was just thinking this morning over my coffee, "I bet I can build a heavy duty flail mower".  your video will really help me. thank you so much for putting in the time and effort to share this with all of us.   you are very skilled my man!

  I noticed from the time the rotating shaft was being fabricated that the issue of dynamic balance was not being given due attention; indeed, the experimental video shows disruptive vibrations caused by this lack of dynamic balance.It's really great—thanks for sharing.
