Alone in the Dark: 12 Hours at The Devil's Backbone

Unearth the dark history of the Devil's Backbone in Camden, Ohio, in this exclusive unreleased footage from the Derelict History archives. Exactly 7 years ago, our team set out into the deep, unforgiving woods along Paint Creek to conduct a grueling overnight paranormal investigation. What we caught on camera still haunts us to this day. The Devil’s Backbone is widely considered one of the most cursed locations in Preble County, Ohio. Steeped in tragedy, the land carries a dark history that dates back centuries. According to local legends, this gorge is a sacred burial ground for Native American royalty. When tribes were forced west, a powerful curse of "swift punishment" was allegedly placed on the valley by Native American leadership (often attributed to Chief Little Turtle or Chief Red Turtle) against anyone who dared disturb the land. For over a century, settlers blamed this curse for mysterious deaths, baffling murders, and horses that terrifiedly refused to cross the historic 1877 Devil's Backbone Bridge. But the spirits aren't the only things hiding in the dark. The Devil's Backbone has a long history of cryptid activity, including a documented 1977 Bigfoot sighting, tales of a hidden copper mine, and an bizarre early 1900s incident where an entire farm of skunks mysteriously vanished overnight without a trace. In this episode, Derelict History walks the forgotten trails, battles the heavy, oppressive energy of the curse, and spends the night trying to communicate with the entities bound to the cliffside. Are the dark entities roaming these hills real, or are they just echoes of a tragic past? Watch the investigation unfold and judge for yourself. 👇 SUBSCRIBE for more urban legends, cryptid hunts, and paranormal investigations: [@derelicthistory] Timestamps: 0:00 - The Curse of Devil's Backbone (Camden, Ohio) 2:26 - Chef Boy'R- E Cooks dinner for the team 5:18 - The team goes on a walk for Bigfoot 9:04 - Night time investigation begins!! 13:26 - loud noise hear! prompting me to use thermal 19:00 - Turning into bed for the night 20:05 - Final Verdict: Is the Land Truly Cursed?
