The USMNT's Head Performance Chef on What to Eat Before You Play | Fuel Forward #1

U.S. Men's National Team Head Performance Chef Michael Schauer joins Zoe Richman to break down what a World Cup game day actually looks like inside an elite kitchen. Fresh off six weeks feeding the national team through a home World Cup, Michael details the pregame meal and its timing, how much of an elite menu is driven by sports science versus knowing what players will actually eat, and what's really in a national team camp. The conversation then turns to high school athletes: what teenagers consistently get wrong about food, three real pregame options from a grocery store, a convenience store, and a fast-food chain, the first meal he'd teach a 16-year-old to cook, and more. A practical masterclass in fueling from someone doing it at the highest level of the sport. NEXT SESSION — Gia De Jesus, founder of House of Athletic Fueling and performance chef for U.S. Soccer. Tuesday, September 8 at 6:00 PM. Here is the link to register: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/regis...
