It's funny how Pokémon is marketed for kids and younger audiences, but when you really look into it the Pokémon world is low key a terrifying place to live in.

Like take Ariados for example, sometimes they let prey go but they attach a thin strand of web to the prey so they can track it down to it's nest and eat it along with it's entire family, or the fact that they outright stated that the first Aerodactyl successful revived actually game ended several of the scientist that did it.

Then there's the whole lore around The Treasures of Ruin, Pokémon born from the evil and greed from people's hearts that destroyed an entire kingdom.

Pokémon is quite notorious for having dark Pokédex entries, this goes especially for some Mega Evolutions, with some as in Mega Salamence being called the “Blood Crescent” due to its habit of even attacking its trainer in battle.

24:30 The whole "Pokedex is written by the player" thing only really applies to like the first 2 or 3 generations of games. Past then, the pokedex either already has its entries written by the professor (so you're just providing them extra info by catching pokemon), or the pokedex auto-analyzes pokemon you encounter and catch to make the entries

16:04 it literally happened to Ash in the anime when he got to the lavander town tower, he and his Pikachu souls were transfered out of their bodies to play with Gengar, Haunter and Gastly.

24:10 Fun (?) fact: That story of a doll being discarded and coming back to get rid of the owner who threw it away isn't anything originally from Pokémon (WHAT?! Pokémon not doing something original? SHOCKER! I know). It's actually an urban legend in Japan about a doll that was Japan's version of Barbie that had a factory defect but the girl who got it actually kept it until eventually threw it away as an adult woman, only to get phone calls saying things along the lines of "Hi! Why did you throw me away?", "Do you not love me anymore?", "Don't worry, I think I can get back home on my own!" and the story ends with on final call saying "I'm right behind you..."

26:30 I can believe and see Electivire cause someone to be scared. Annie saw her siblings watching the Pokémon anime when Diamond and pearl was airing. But serious, Paul’s Electivire was build different and was a menace. And Volkner’s Electivire was a threat to. She had a reason to be scared when Electivire showed up on screen.

4:16. For context parsect and its pre evolution paras, are bugs that get their conscious consumed by mushrooms. This comes from the real life cordyceps fungus which puppeteers the bugs to make them climb to new heights so that they can spread more spores, all the while the host slowly dies. This fungus would also inspire The Last of Us with a, thankfully, fictional variant that infected humans.
So here paras still has some sentience but is being slowly eaten alive. When it turns into parsect though, the mushroom is in full control.

Most of these are honestly just the Pokémon hunting, some may not even be real, the Pokédex actually talks about rumors and legends too.
