Thank you, I'm an artist looking for a new method to do storytelling. I saw a video on YT about, sand automata in a box. My heart seriously leaped.  This is so informative. The possibilities on the inner build and understanding how the final character will move based on the cogs shape is brilliant.

This is exactly what i was looking for, gave me a good basic on how these things work.

I'm guessing that the gentleman he refers to meant that these 10 movements can cover all of the motions that go into making automata.

Can you do more videos with these contractions of all types including simple linkages how they work snd how to add gears. Or how to combined them and what they make when combined! Would pay for that video no one has it

The problem with example D is its extended all the way out. Had it done slack left in its stride it wouldn't double back

I love the way you are a straight talking no beating around the bush just get on with it. You have put a fair bit of work in to that working model which helps me a lot. Thank you I’m trying to make a whistling bird in a cage working on cams to make it move and as well as the wings and tail flapping . I’m trying to find working drawings of the cams and the mechanical movement plus making the whistle that does the chirping and Bellows thank you very much for posting this for me.
