Manufacturers didn't pick 8 years warranty. The government did to make sure manufacturers don't race to the bottom with price and battery life

This is why I change the differential oil in my motor drives. I need to make sure I won't "need a new car for the battery"!

Fast charging is added heat that thermal cooling system cannot completely compensate in hot climates. Just feel heat of fast charging power tool batteries.

These batteries aren't going to last a decade through Minnesota winters or Texas summers!

I think max life of a car is about 20 years and you may do about 400 000km - Evs battery will make it, but all cars incl ice have a ton of the electronics(and screens) and wiring in all new cars may not be long lasting.

Fine. <br>I'm glad the recorded stats are better then the predicted losses but don't pretend the longevity problem has been solved.<br> <br>Diesel cars on average last 15+ years here in the UK and twice that in the 3rd world.<br>Unlike ICE vehicles, calendar degredation will kill a battery even if it's parked in a cool barn!<br><br>Imagine finding a 50 years old Tesla barn find and trying to make it run!? 🤔
