  Radio transmission wouldn&apos;t have been prevented from escaping the black hole unless the astronaut was already inside the event horizon. Depending on how close they were to the event horizon, radio signals might have been deflected and red-shifted to the point where the radio transmissions were too long to be recognized as radio waves. And, moving at the speed of light, it would probably take the radio signals far too long to reach anyone who might be able to help.

  I love this channel so much. Growing up, while my friends were watching cartoons in the morning before school, I was watching shows like Mr wizard&apos;s World. &nbsp; &nbsp;And similarly to you, I was fascinated by all things space including black holes. I still am. &nbsp; &nbsp;So many mind-bending things to think about. Dark energy, dark matter, black holes, different realities, what&apos;s outside of our universe, what came before the Big bang.... &nbsp; Who knows? Maybe we&apos;re living in a black hole right now and a singularity is a standalone universe. &nbsp; &nbsp; I&apos;m fascinated in topics going the other size direction as well. &nbsp; &nbsp;We know about atoms, now quarks, but what are quarks made of? &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;It blows my mind to think about the entire chain of size on both ends and where the end of that chain might actually be if they&apos;re even is one....
