  Great to have seen these quarries and production of various minerals and stones into beautiful objects. Fascinating machines and processes. Granite is such an nice and especially hard material, difficult to process. Yet in Egypt on many occasions they where able to process huge blocks of granite. Two famous examples are:<br><br>1) The Kings Chamber in The Great Pyramid. The walls are granite, also the box inside. The Grand Gallery consists of stone slabs weighing up to 80 tons! We totally have no idea how they were moved. They came from a quarry (Aswan) almost 800 km further. How they transported it is unknown and mindblowing!<br><br>2) The 24 (sometimes cited as 25-26) massive granite boxes in the Serapeum of Saqqara, Egypt, are precision-cut, monolithic sarcophagi dating to around 1300 BCE (reign of Ramesses II). Weighing 70–100 tons each, they were carved from distant Aswan granite with remarkable accuracy and placed in narrow, underground chambers, posing significant questions about ancient transportation and construction methods. The boxes have a smooth, mirror like image, with extreme precision made. And they did that with only copper tools and abresive sand?<br>Almost impossible. Granite has a 6 hardness on the scale of Mohs. Copper has a 3. You can only cut or process granite with something harder. That&apos;s the reason they use industrial diamonds, the hardest material in the world. (scale 10 on Mohs)<br><br><br>Great, and interesting channel.
