Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov defends Moscow’s position on the Ukraine war, rejects a pause in Russia’s military operation and revisits the Minsk agreements, 2014 political crisis, Istanbul negotiations, NATO, Russia’s security concerns and relations with the West. U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz calls for an end to the killing and says there is no military solution to the war, while emphasizing U.S. diplomatic efforts toward a negotiated settlement. Finland’s President Alexander Stubb calls on the Security Council to act and argues that the war should end through a ceasefire followed by negotiations on security, territory and justice.
